One in five in the LGBTQ+ community faces a problem different from one another. It is really important to address these issues and provide an indefinite solution. Despite several campaigns and activities being organized, these steps are merely just a small reflection of a wider scenario. Every day the issues keep rising and rising and evolving until it finds a point, which takes a lot of time.
Key issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community include,
- Reaction of society - Society plays an important role in the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community. They have to understand the issues and discriminations in order to make the community feel comfortable and secure.
- Violence - There have been numerous cases of crimes that are violent against the community in recent years. These hate crimes are an epidemic that creates an unbalanced society increasing the crime rates.
- Employment discrimination - There are incidents where employees are fired just because of their sexual orientation, which means that regardless of their ability talent, or performance there is no space for them to excel or move forward in their professional life.
- Housing discrimination - Earning, living, and supporting a normal happy life is very difficult for the community. They are denied housing based on their identities. The community faces unfavorable situations and treatments in renting homes and faces discrimination which needs to be identified
- Acceptance - Outside the courtroom or legal system, the community still faces discrimination and fearful hate both emotionally and mentally. People need to come out of their comfort zone and start to accept the community, accept them and treat them as their own.
